Anyone free the evening of Sat, Oct 11th?

Check this out

Here is the ORIGINAL thread http://http://forums.scientology-exposed.com/7-media-leaks/pirates-promoting-l-ron-my-borders-832/#post8841, and a new thread was added in the Los Angeles Regional folder.

Pro tip: Stay outside.

Don't go in and get v&, gregg-style.

Why hello, visiting Scientologist! Did you know:

Incident II is nothing more than the XENU story told in OT3?

OT8 = You mocked up your own past lives.

Re: Anyone free the evening of Sat, Oct 11th?

I think that (and no, this has nothing to do with my personal issues with this...ahem), I don't know that it's necessary to raid this.
Yes, it's LRH books, but it's not a COS class or a COS meeting or anything like that...it's not even Scientology books, it's his pulp-fiction stuff. We're protesting COS, right? Then why do we need to protest a live reading of a bunch of pulp-fiction books? Unless you're just looking to split hairs and protest because it's related to LRH and is being held in a Scientology owned building and the money spent on tickets will return to COS, but I, again, think protesting something like this might send the wrong message.   :zombie5: I thought we were protesting the abuses of the organization, not the existence of it completely.
It's like having an arguement about the movie Big Fish and you're talking about characters and plot development, and then someone decides to start talking about Edward Scissorhands and you're like "dude, that's not even the same movie, just the same director".
It's not like they're trying to hide it that it's Scientology related...all the propaganda clearly states BY L. RON HUBBARD is big bold letters all over it...and many many people, especially the older people who are into pulpfiction and the Golden Age stories, are well aware of who L Ron Hubbard is.

And for the record, this is not a singular event, so don't expect it to be a ~*huge fabulous*~ event for them. They're doing these readings every weekend through December with a different book and cast each week.

Ath: I'm speechless.

Stand outside the building with a sign that says "Scientology Sci-fi Sucks."

Or, you know, raid somewhere good.

Re: Anyone free the evening of Sat, Oct 11th?

October 11 is a big art night along Hollywood blvd, why dont we just stroll Hwd Blvd in masks and take it as it comes, making the Gallery a place we pass by.

The books do have ten pages of laudatory prose about LRH and are designed as a gateway to Scientology, plus they are a revenue stream designed to replace the flagging sales of Dianetics, so I think stopping in fornt for a brief moment in front and fliering about scientology could be part of an overall evening out. NO signs, just fliers as we have a lovely evening walk.

Re: Anyone free the evening of Sat, Oct 11th?

$10 for admission? To sit around and listen to crappy pulp fiction read aloud?

Nobody is going to be there but Scientologists, and the LRH Gallery is a block from La Brea with next to zero foot traffic. On the other hand, it IS across the street from the Knitting Factory, so there might be some club traffic on a Saturday night.

Hmm.  :bj:

(I just love that emoticon.)
