Hello everyone,
This is the official "RSVP for 5/10" thread. Please
reply if you are going to attend this Saturday's demonstration, as well as how many will be joining you so that we can plan accordingly.
Where:
6331 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles CA -- This is a block away from the Hollywood and Vine subway stop on the Red Line; more specifically it's at the intersection of Hollywood and Ivar.
When:
2:00pm - 6:00pm
At 4:00pm we will be implementing a plan that will involve movement. Be ready for this!
What:
We are protesting against the Church of Scientology. This month in LA has no theme.
Notes (Weather/suits/masks/fundraising):
Current Weather.com forecast for the raid is a high of 73 degrees, SUNNY. Bring Sunscreen, no matter how cloudy or cool it is you WILL burn. Expected UV index is 10 (that is the highest possible) with humidity at 55%, precipitation at 20%. You will most likely sweat, especially if that temperature rises at all. If you survived the hundred degree weather in a suit on 4/12, however, you should be fine this time around <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="
" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> A few of us were thinking Hawaiian shirts for guys and Hula skirts for girls would be awesome.
It is especially important to head on home at 6:00, as the darker it gets the harder it will be to see people following you. We will be asking people to go to specific locations at 4:00 so if you are asked to go somewhere, stick with your group, but please help the protest out by following those instructions.
Masks are still permitted on the streets, but not on the Subway. If someone pulls a camera on you, put that mask on (so have it ready). Cameras are just as disallowed in the Subway as Masks.
There will be a fundraising effort going on to support people going to court with Scientology. Gregg in Boston is facing a criminal harassment charge, and Sean had to drop 5 grand on bail money in March. Your support will help keep Anonymous martyrs like these gentlemen afloat.
